In Makurdi, the capital of Benue State, it has been reported that a trainer aircraft belonging to the Nigerian Air Force, specifically the FT-7NI model, has crashed. The incident occurred during a routine training exercise on Friday, as stated by Channels Television.
The NAF Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet, has confirmed this statement. Thankfully, both pilots aboard the aircraft survived the crash and are currently under observation in a military facility.
“Both pilots are currently under observation at NAF Base Hospital, Makurdi. Meanwhile, the Chief of Air Staff, Air Vice Marshal Hasan Abubakar, has constituted a Board of Inquiry to determine the immediate and remote causes of the crash,” he said.
