Britney Spears’ family ‘fears’ that the release of her memoir The Woman in Me in two weeks’ time will induce a ‘dangerous mental health meltdown’.
The eagerly anticipated book documents the rollercoaster ride of 41-year-old Britney’s life and career, including her controversial 13-year conservatorship.
Britney’s conservatorship had her father Jamie make personal, business and financial decisions for her.
However, a family insider said this week that the Toxic hitmaker ‘doesn’t have a clue about how her words are about to be blown up around the world’.
Expressing concerns for Britney’s wellbeing in the aftermath of the memoir’s release on October 24, the insider added: ‘Britney is living on the edge mentally without the stress of this book release.
‘There is a huge fear that she will become ill as her family find themselves in her sights in the memoir.’
They also told the Sun that the superstar singer has been ‘struggling to have perspective for over a decade’.
In The Woman in Me, Britney will be sharing her own story for the first time, delving into her shocking battle for freedom from her conservatorship, as well as the inside story of her rise to fame.
Britney’s family reportedly aren’t the only ones worried about the release of The Woman in Me.
It’s also been claimed that Britney’s ex Justin Timberlake is ‘very curious’ about the memoir and what will be mentioned of their romance.
The SexyBack singer, 42, dated Britney for around three years before their relationship came crashing down in 2002.
Although they have both moved on, Britney is reportedly set to rehash their time together in her new book and insiders have suggested that the Social Network actor has been left ‘concerned’ about what those pages will entail.
‘He’s very curious what she’ll reveal from their relationship,’ they claimed. ‘It’s eating at him.’
A publishing source stopped short of revealing what Britney discussed in her memoir, but insisted that it is not a ‘takedown’ of her ex.
‘This is Britney finally getting a chance to tell her empowering story,’ they added to PageSix. ‘It’s nothing more than that.’
Britney announced her book last year, amid reports that she signed a deal worth around $15million.
