Bruce Springsteen releases video thanking Irish fans as shows in Europe get cancelled due to vocal issues
Bruce Springsteen has thanked his Irish fans for “deeply memorable shows” after having to cancel some European gigs.
The US singer (74) cancelled a few concerts on his European tour due to “vocal issues”.
The American star released a video on social media thanking Irish fans for “great time” during the Irish gigs.
“I’d like to thank our Irish fans, our British fans, our fans in Wales for giving us a series of shows that were deeply memorable and we just had great times,” he said.

He also addressed his fans in other European cities that saw their shows postponed and said he “will be back”.
“Unfortunately, I could not sing for you but we will be back to Marseille, to Prague and to Milan to give you the show of your life that I promised you,” he said.
“We’ll be coming back to Madrid and Barcelona where we plan to rock you into the ground.”
The rock star and his E Street Band played Sunderland’s Stadium of Light in the UK last Wednesday after a run of concerts in Ireland last week.
Their first Irish stop was Kilkenny on May 12, followed by Cork on May 16, and then finishing in Dublin’s Croke Park on May 19.
Last Thursday, Springsteen was honoured at London’s Ivor Novello Awards and was presented a Fellowship of The Ivors Academy by The Beatles legend Paul McCartney.
Bruce was previously named the first international songwriter to be inducted into the fellowship before the ceremony took place.
On Saturday, the US star announced that the gig in Marseille will be postponed due to “vocal issues”.
“Further examination and consulting has led doctors to determine that Bruce should not perform for the next 10 days,” his Instagram account has said in a statement.
“Additional postponements are required for Airport Letnany in Prague (originally scheduled for May 28) and San Siro Stadium in Milan (originally scheduled for June 1 and 3).
“New dates for these shows will be announced shortly.
“Those wishing a refund will be able to obtain it at their original point of purchase.”
His European tour is now set to resume on June 12 in Madrid.
