Attention, all french fry fans: It’s National French Fry Day, and some of our favorite chains are celebrating with the gift of free fries. Here’s how you can join in on the free french-fry fun.
When Is National French Fry Day?
In past years, the “holiday” was celebrated on July 13. However, after a 2022 petition advocating that the bonanza be moved, the founder of the National Day Calendar complied. National French Fry Day will henceforth be celebrated on the second Friday of July. (Fryday—get it?)
Despite this, there is still debate about when the day is really celebrated. Some chains like McDonald’s still offered deals on July 13. Whichever day you decide to celebrate, there’s a good chance you’ll be able to find some special promotions.
For starters, we’ll be heading to Burger King and Wendy’s, who we think have the best fast-food fries.
How Do I Get Free French Fries from Burger King?

If you’re a fan of Burger King fries, you’re in luck! The chain is giving out free small, medium and large orders of french fries this Friday, July 14, to all Royal Perks loyalty rewards members. If you’re not a member yet, it’s easy (and free) to sign up. Just provide an email to get started, and you’ll soon be set for National French Fry Day and beyond.
How Do I Get Free French Fries from Wendy’s?
From July 13 to 16, Wendy’s fans can pick up free fries of any size. All they have to do is order through the Wendy’s Rewards program via the app or website. Similar to BK’s, the program is free to join.
If you do decide to take advantage of this deal, we highly recommend dipping fries in a Wendy’s Frosty for some sweet and salty fast-food perfection.
