Cavalier lose to Robinhood in CONCACAF Carib Cup final

Cavalier will now have to endure a 22 team playoff to make their way into next season’s CONCACAF Champions Cup after going down 2-0 to SV Robinhood of Suriname in the 2nd leg final of the CONCACAF Caribbean Cup on Wednesday night at the National Stadium to lose the tie 3-0 on aggregate.

Player of the Match Franklin Singodikromo in the 89th minute and captain Jamilhio Rigters in time added secured the dramatic win for the Surinamese club in a game in which Cavalier ended with 10 players.

Cavalier’s Shaniel Thomas was sent off in the 55th minute for second bookable offence. Incidentally Thomas also collected the award for top goal scorer in the competition.

Robinhood by virtue of their success are into the round of 16 of the champions cup, while Cavalier will have to be one of the next best 11 teams from the playoffs to be in the CONCACAF Champions Cup.
