They also paid on their credit card but one viewer wondered how they would get the e-ticket confirmation without a phone of their own

The famous faces had their own mobile phones and cash cards taken off them at the start of the adventure in Morocco, meaning they have to use cash to pay for their travel, accommodation and food.

At one point in the show, All Saints singer Melanie Blatt and her mother Helene were on a train hoping to make a connection to Toulon in France so they could then get the ferry to Corsica.

They got chatting to an English couple next to them, and Mel explained their situation.

“We are actually in a race, the next bit we have to get to is Corsica. We’ve got no phone, no credit card, so life is tough.”

The kind couple offered them the use of their phone and the use of their credit card in exchange for the amount in cash.

The guy also said: “And can we contribute a bit, would that help?”

Mel gave them a big hug and was then seen booking their onward travel on their phone.

But one viewer questioned how that would work in line with the competition and wrote on X: “But if they have no phones then how will they have the PDF/ ticket confirmation?”

How Mel and her mum managed to get their tickets and carry on their journey without their phone wasn’t shown on camera.

However, they made it to the ferry on time and ended up arriving at the second check point in second place, just behind McFly’s Harry Judd and his mum Emma.

Celebrity Race Across the World continues on Wednesday, October 4 at 9pm on BBC One.
