Governor Kathy Hochul issues update on missing 9-year-old
The family of nine-year-old Charlotte Sena, who disappeared while camping at Moreau Lake State Park and has been missing since Saturday, is making a heartfelt plea to the public for any information that could help locate the missing child.
Charlotte, a young girl with blonde hair and green eyes, vanished during a bike ride with friends in the picturesque State Park.
When she disappeared, she was wearing black Crocs, an orange tie-dye Pokémon shirt, dark blue pants, and a gray bike helmet.
She is four feet, six inches tall and weighs around 90 pounds.
Charlotte was last seen around 6:15pm on Saturday, when she decided to ride her bike alone on a short loop in the park.

“She wanted to ‘be that big girl’ and do it alone,” said New York Governor Kathy Hochul during a news conference.
Charlotte’s family shared an official statement with NBC News saying: “We just want her returned safely like any parent would. No tip is too small, please call if you know anything at all.”
Over 100 people, including aviation and underwater rescue teams, bloodhounds, drones, and technology experts, have been involved in the search. Charlotte is also the niece of a member of the Schenectady Fire Department, which has been actively supporting the search operation.
An Amber Alert was issued on Sunday morning, with the New York State Police expressing concern for Charlotte’s safety, believing that she may have been abducted.

Information Officer Stephanie O’Neil believes Charlotte may have been kidnapped: “She is a highly intelligent, adventurous 9-year-old — but obviously this is out of character for her.”
Lt. Col. Richard Mazzone of the Uniform Force of the State Police explained further: “Following our exhaustive search of the park, we took that step of issuing the Amber Alert because we felt that when we couldn’t find her here, it was quite possible that an abduction had taken place.”
According to the U.S. Department of Justice, “As of January 2, 2023, 1,127 children were successfully recovered through the AMBER Alert system and 131 children were rescued because of wireless emergency alerts.”

Moreau Lake State Park, nestled 45 miles north of Albany, covers over 4,600 acres and offers a mix of hardwood forests, pine stands, and rocky ridges, according to the Department of Environmental Conservation.
Mazzone said: “We continue to dedicate all the resources that we can to find Charlotte and bring her home safe.”
A prayer gathering for Charlotte’s safe return is scheduled for Monday night at Mount Zion Church in Gansevoort, New York, from 7 to 8 p.m.
