CAROL Vorderman has set the record straight on an outlandish Countdown fan theory.
The 63-year-old TV star shot to fame on the Channel 4 show as the math genius in 1984 and stayed on for over 20 years before departing in 2008.

Carol was known for effortlessly solving math puzzles in a matter of seconds on Countdown.
However, in a strange twist, some fans believe she was secretly getting answers fed to her through an earpiece by the show’s producers.
But now, Carol has wasted no time in hitting back at these baseless allegations.
She vehemently denied any involvement in rigging the game.
“I could see the answer to the numbers. I see it – in the way that some people can see the conundrum,” Carol told The Guardian.
The star continued: “So it’s patterns for me, rather than calculation.”
She also shared that if she were to be on Countdown now, she would be ‘half the speed’ that she used to be.
Carol concluded: “If you said, ‘Right, you’ve got to go on telly live and do some Countdown games’ I would be half the speed that I used to be.”
Carol recently left fans shocked after revealing her exact age as she celebrated her birthday.
Posting on Instagram, Carol shared a montage of snaps of herself to celebrate her big day.
She then revealed to fans she is 63 years old, but admitted she feels as young as 46.
