ARLINGTON, Texas — Micah Parsons appears primed to ascend to Lawrence Taylor’s game-wrecker throne.
“I don’t think I just qualify myself as just a defensive player, I think I’m the most valuable player,” Parsons said after terrorizing Zach Wilson and the Jets in a 30-10 win on Sunday.
Parsons recorded two sacks for three across the first two games and added a forced fumble of Dalvin Cook that he took to the house to no avail because he was ruled down on review.
“Zach’s a good player. I don’t judge any player about what they do, that’s not me for talking about any player and what’s going on in their organization and their business. But I just know Zach went against a top defense and we did what we were supposed to do,” Parsons said.
Was he rattled?
“I don’t know if he’s rattled or what he goes through in his progress, I just know that I’m hunting for him and I hunted him,” Parsons said.

DeMarcus Lawrence, asked for his thoughts about Parsons, said simply: “Badass. Glad he’s part of the Dallas Cowboys.”
As is Osa Odighizuwa. “Dude is an incredible athlete, got a really high motor, a lot stronger than people give him credit for,” he said, “and he’s gonna command a lot more blocks, double-teams and stuff like that, it’s just gonna open up the 1-on-1’s for everyone else and then vice versa if they want to double-team me or Lawrence, someone else, then Micah’s gonna have a 1-on-1 and the guy’s probably gonna get beat.”
Parsons is every quarterback’s worst nightmare, every offensive coordinator’s worst nightmare, every offensive lineman’s worst nightmare, every would-be blocker’s worst nightmare.
“He’s an elite pass rusher,” Jets LT Duane Brown said. “It’s their first home game. It’s loud. You have to go silent cadence. He timed the cadence up a lot. He was getting a good jump off the ball.”
Micah Parsons is driven to be the best player in the game.
“Any play, any down,” Cowboys CB Trevon Diggs said, “could be a special play.”
