A TikTok user has blessed the internet with a dog’s hilariously unexpected and unique trick, leaving viewers in complete shock.
In a post shared to TikTok on November 30, under the username @brileystokes19, someone is seen picking up the small dog off the ground.
“Dearly beloved, we are gathered here to pray,” the person in the video started saying.
And right on cue, the dog joins the person in prayer by placing his paws together.
This dog needed no assistance in performing the trick. He excitedly put his paws together just as a human would put their hands together when they start to pray—a sign this is not his first time praying.
The holiday season is filled with celebrations and family gatherings, which may or may not include prayers. But because pets are viewed as very much part of the family, it’s no wonder this owner wanted to teach the dog to join in on family prayer.
By the looks of it, the little dog is very happy to be part of the family and prayer. He knows what prayer means, shaking his head in acknowledgment, then kissing the person afterward.
If anyone needed proof that all pets “go to heaven,” then this TikTok video is it.
Believe it or not, there are a few tips and tricks to get your dog to “pray.” Wag, a dog walking service, suggests having your dog lie down on the floor. Then, use a treat to lower their head to the floor.
After a few successful attempts, start including your command. This could be “bow your head,” or “say your prayers.” Encourage him to stay in that position, then use “Amen” to release. Soon enough, you’ll have a praying pup.

The clip has reached over 2.8 million views, 639,800 likes and 1,184 comments within the first five days of posting.
Viewers have flooded the comment section with their praise of this hilarious trick. If there is one thing they’re all thankful for this year, it’s that this video came across their timeline. Now, everyone knows dogs can pray.
“He said, ‘Oh wait, that’s my part,'” @thegirlwiththejuice_ posted.
Another person added: “We need the tutorial I need my dog to do this trick.”
“We absolutely do not deserve dogs,” said @markdeleon000. That must be the reason why all dogs do in fact go to heaven.
