Donovan Smith alleged the Bills shut off the Chiefs’ hot water after their playoff win

The Buffalo Bills caught a very familiar feeling Sunday night. They had their playoffs ended by the Kansas City Chiefs for the third time in the last four seasons.

This time, however, it happened in an unfamiliar place. Buffalo was hosting its AFC West rival in the friendly confines of Highmark Stadium in western New York. That meant lake effect weather, a breezy night and bushels of snowballs; some celebratory and many not.

The Bills loss 27-24 thanks to a distinct inability to capitalize on the opportunities afforded to them in a disastrous fourth quarter. But they weren’t the only ones leaving the stadium uncomfortable.

That’s because, per Chiefs’ left tackle Donovan Smith, Kansas City’s locker room mysteriously ran out of hot water after the game.

Damn caught a L and they shut our hot water off… smh its all good we got that Dub today #ChiefsKingdom

This wouldn’t be the first time this season showers were either cut short or canceled due to faulty water heaters in a rivalry game. It happened in November when the New York Giants traveled to Washington for a game against the Commanders — though that was more closely related to the fact FedEx Field is a third world country formerly ruled by an ineffectual despot. It may be the first time it was done out of alleged spite, however.

The Bills haven’t issued a statement on the hot water, or lack thereof, following Sunday night’s game in 20 degree weather.
