Double murder rocks Rairakhol; Police launch investigation after couple killed inside their home

A couple has been brutally murdered inside their home at Pandirisala village under Rairakhol police limits in Sambalpur. The deceased have been identified as Abraham Kujur and his wife Kuanri Kujur.

As per initial reports, some miscreants sneaked into the house and attacked the couple on Saturday night. It is pertinent to mention here that the deceased Abraham’s family was staying along with the family of his brother in the same house.

Family members said that Abraham’s family had some dispute with his brother-in-law and they suspect his involvement. However, the exact motive behind the killing is not clear yet. On getting information, senior police officials reached the spot which is located at an isolated place having mobile network issues as well.

“We were sleeping in the house while they were sleeping outside when the incident took place. We had no information about the incident. Only after hearing screams, we came to know about the incident,” said deceased Abraham’s sister-in-law.

Rairakhol SDPO Prashant Meher said, ” There were other members in the house when the incident occurred. We are investigating the matter. Forensic team will also conduct a detailed examination. It is suspected that the couple was killed with the help of some sharp weapon.”
