A magnitude 4.3 earthquake was felt in sections of Jamaica Wednesday night.
The earthquake, which occurred about 8:02 p.m., was located approximately five kilometres south of Hope Bay in the north eastern parish of Portland.
Professor Simon Mitchell, Sedimentary Geologist at the Earthquake Unit, said it took place in the same area as the 5.6 magnitude earthquake that occurred in October last year.
There was no immediate report of damage or injury.
