MANILA, Philippines: Two weather systems are bringing fair weather, cloudy skies and isolated light rains in parts of the country, the state-run weather agency said Saturday.
According to the Philippines Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), the northeast monsoon or “amihan” is affecting most parts of Northern Luzon, bringing cold winds, cloudy skies and isolated light rains.
However, the forecast said the easterlies—the hot wind coming from the Pacific Ocean — currently prevails in the rest of the country bringing good weather but with chances of light rains.
“Based on our extended weather outlook in select cities in the country, Metro Manila and Baguio City may expect the effects of amihan as it is likely to intensify for three next three days,” weather specialist Daniel James Villamil said.
While no gale warning was issued for today, Saturday, Pagasa said fishers with small seacraft are advised to take precautionary measures when sailing into the seaboards of Northern Luzon, as light to moderate waves are expected.
