Despite opening the cheque book to sign Ashley du Preez from Stellenbosch FC, Chiefs decided to scour the market in search for a target man. In the end that search ended with Amakhosi settling for a striker they had already rejected in the off-season in Caleb Bimenyimana. But before that, they had looked at quite a few other options they had hoped would fill that role. One of those strikers was Mozambican hitman Stanley Ratifo.

Ratifo reportedly impressed at Chiefs, but for one reason or another his move to Naturena did not materialise. After his failure to clinch that deal, he returned to his German lower division side 1.CfR Pforzheim. Now with the latest reports coming from Soccer-Laduma, it looks like he might be back in South African soon trying his luck.
Polokwane City interested in ex-Chiefs trialist Ratifo
“Stanley Ratifo is the Mozambican striker who was on the radar of Kaizer Chiefs last season and came close to joining the club. He attended trials at Chiefs last season and did well, but the deal fell through. There is another opportunity for him to come and play in the PSL as there have been a few enquiries made on his availability. Polokwane City is one of the clubs that have showed serious interest. The player is currently with Mozambican national team at the Afcon and you can expect negotiations to resume once he and the team are finished there,”. Said the source.
