A serving garda has been charged and will appear in court this morning as part of an investigation into the activities of a Dublin unit of the force.
Four gardaí have been suspended from duty and one member has been charged as part of the anti-corruption investigation.
The Garda Anti-Corruption Unit has been carrying out an investigation into the activities of a particular unit based in the Dublin region.
Four members of the gardaí have been suspended from duty since the start of the investigation.
One man, a member of An Garda Síochána, has been charged and will appear before the Criminal Courts of Justice this morning.
