The City of Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality has cautioned its residents about a power interruption that has affected parts of Kempton Park.
CITY OF EKURHULENI ATTENDING TO POWER FAILURE
The City of Ekurhuleni indicated that its manpower was on site attending to the problem.
“The City’s technicians are attending to a power supply interruption that is affecting parts of Kempton Park. The outage came as a result of cable theft which occurred in the early hours of the morning,” the municipality reported.
Affected areas are:
Glen Erasmia; and
Parts of Glen Marais

THE RESTORATION PERIOD IN KEMPTON PARK
“The estimated restoration time is 23h00 this evening, but the city commits to work towards restoring the power before then. Residents are advised to treat electrical networks as live at all times,” the City of Ekurhuleni warned.

ESKOM RAMPS UP LOAD SHEDDING
Meanwhile, Eskom has ramped up load shedding to Stage 5 from 14:00 on Monday, 24 July.
The power utility had said that it would implement Stage 3 and 4 load shedding alternatively on Monday.
In a statement, the power utility said this is due to further delays in returning generating units to service, as well as the further failure of 5 generating units.
Stage 5 loadshedding will be implemented from 14:00 today until 05:00 on Tuesday. Thereafter, Stage 4 loadshedding will be implemented until further notice.
