There has been another firebombing incident.
It took place in Valencia on Saturday morning.
The victim told police she secured her home along Cumaca Road off Valencia Old Road at about 7.30 a.m. and went away.
Around 9.30 a.m. she received a call from her neighbour, who informed her that her house was on fire.
The police and fire services were notified.
A team of fire officers led by FSO Quentin responded and were able to contain the blaze and prevent it from spreading to nearby structures.
When police were making checks on the premises, they observed several broken glass bottles near the front door of the home as well as on the sofa in the living room.
As a result, police suspect that Molotov cocktails were used to set the structure on fire.
No injuries were reported.
PC Harrinanan is continuing enquiries.
In an unrelated incident, police are investigating a report of arson in Chaguanas.
The victim, a 37-year-old man from Joyce Road, told police that around 2 a.m. on Saturday he was asleep in his home when he was awoken by a loud noise.
He observed his silver Hyundai Ioniq parked on the roadway on fire.
The victim raised an alarm and with the aid of the landlord and other tenants of the apartment complex, was able to extinguish the fire.
The landlord checked his CCTV cameras and observed a man dressed in a hoodie throwing a clear liquid from a bottle onto the vehicle before setting it on fire.
The police were notified and officers from the Central Division responded and are continuing enquiries.
On Thursday, automotive business HSM Marketing was forced to shut down operations after arsonists used the cover of darkness around 3 a.m. to torch 15 vehicles.
Two buildings were also damaged by the fire.
