Hyatt is making strategic advances in the hotel sector in Spain. In collaboration with Exacorp One, it plans to open a new Thompson hotel, which will mark the brand’s presence in its second Spanish city, following a successful launch in Madrid. With this new establishment in Seville, the number of Thompson hotels in Europe now stands at four.
The new hotel, which will have 101 rooms, is strategically located between Plaça Concordia and Plaça Gavidia, on the premises of a former police station. Exacorp One, owner of the Hyatt Centric Gran Vía, created in 2017, and the Thompson Madrid, which welcomed its first guests in 2022, owns this new establishment.
The Thompson hotel in Seville will feature a rooftop bar, a rooftop pool, a fitness centre and a fully-fledged conference centre.
Spain is at the heart of Hyatt’s expansion strategy, with a portfolio of 50 hotels spanning 11 distinct brands. The chain’s latest addition to its Spanish range was the Grand Hyatt brand, which made its debut in May, following a partnership with La Manga Club.
Javier Coll, chairman of Hyatt Hotels Inclusive Collection, has made clear his commitment to growth, even hinting at potential acquisitions of management companies as part of their expansion plans.
