Dr. Simon Ourian has become the go-to for A-list celebrities since he opened his Los Angeles practice in the late 1990s.
The Hollywood Cosmetic Dermatology Doctor’s clients include Nicole Scherzinger, Kylie Jenner, and Winnie Harlow.
Speaking to The U.S. Sun, he shared tips for aging gracefully.
BRIGHT IDEA
Ourian urged people to avoid a skincare hack that’s gone viral on social media.
“A trend that for me absolutely needs to go is sunscreen contouring when someone skips the use of sunscreen in particular parts of the face to get a contoured effect,” he said.
“Sunscreen is crucial not only to prevent concerns like wrinkles and hyperpigmentation but also for your health.”
However, the “skin minimalism” trend should stay, with people using just a few products suitable for concerns.
“Keeping it simple also helps in keeping the consistency of your skincare routine, which is critical for efficacy,” he said.

INCREDIBLE INGREDIENTS
Ourian revealed a basic daily regimen should include cleanser, toner, moisturizer, and sunscreen.
He said despite wearing protection, sun exposure should always be kept to a minimum.
“Use and reapply sunscreen throughout the day, use protective clothing, and never use sun tanning beds,” he said.
“It’s much more complex to recover from sun damage than it is to prevent it.”
He revealed that vitamin C can be beneficial if sun damage has already occurred.
Peptides help stimulate collagen production, improving skin firmness and elasticity.

He said it’s a “potent antioxidant” that helps with hyperpigmentation, skin dullness, and protects against free radical damage.
He recommended using it alongside two other ingredients for an improved complexion.
“Hyaluronic acid hydrates and plumps the skin, reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles,” he said.
“Peptides help stimulate collagen production, improving skin firmness and elasticity.”
BEAUTY SLEEP
Ourian said lifestyle factors such as smoking, poor diet, stress, and lack of sleep can cause premature aging.
He said it’s important to keep them in sync in addition to using anti-aging skincare products.
“High-quality sleep is key for healthy skin,” he said.
“During sleep, the body repairs itself and so does the skin.
“It elevates blood flow to the skin and triggers the reconstruction of collagen, which helps in the reduction of wrinkles and addresses damage from UV exposure.
“By allowing your skin to undergo these reparative cycles, you promote a natural radiance and help prevent common consequences like puffiness and dark under-eye circles.
“Moreover, during sleep, your skin optimally absorbs the benefits of skincare products, amplifying their efficacy.
“For adults, aiming for 7-9 hours each night not only ensures a well-rested state but also affords your skin the opportunity for comprehensive rejuvenation overnight.”
