THERE are few things as annoying as splurging on a new powder, bronzer or blush only for you to drop and smash it a few days later.
But according to one influencer’s genius hack, when this happens all is not lost – in fact all you need to fix it is a bottle of booze.

Mia Galvin is a California based make-up artist who regularly shares her uber-glam looks and nifty tricks with her 63k followers on her Instagram account @MiaBGalvan.
And in a recent clip that racked up more than 1.2 million views, she shared her super easy method to fix smashed powdered cosmetics.
To begin, Mia shows off one of her highlighters which has broken into a few big chunks, adding the caption “How to fix broken make-up”.
As the beauty buff explains, although it seems rather counterintuitive, you want to take the other end of a make-up brush and continue to smash the chunks into smaller and smaller pieces until it’s just “fine particles”.
“Then use alcohol,” she continues, “I’m using good old 70%, and pour in about half a cap full.”
After pouring in the liquor, “you just want to stir and mix it around creating a paste”, the cosmetics guru suggests.
When it creates a thickish paste, Mia explains that you want to “spread it around like butter” until it’s entirely smoothed over.
She then took a round flat tin wrapped in a damp cloth to pack the product down back into the packaging.
You can then use a cotton bud to clean any excess product from around the edges of the compact to ensure that it both looks clean and closes properly.
Leave it a short time to dry out, and you should have your product “perfectly back to normal”, Mia suggests, showing off her good-as-new repaired highlighter.
“It doesn’t affect the product’s application at all,” the make-up guru concludes.
Her genius clip racked up a whopping 68k likes and hundreds of admiring comments.
“I don’t use make-up but ima tell every girl I know about this [sic],” one wrote.
“I’ve done this more times than I can count,” another gushed. “A lifesaver for clumsy ppl for sure.”
“Like magic,” a third added alongside a praise emoji.
Some viewers were rather concerned about applying alcohol to their faces because of its drying properties, worried that it might make their skin feel less hydrated.
But if that’s the case, there’s another handy workaround according to one helpful user.
