Jamaica’s senior women’s cricketers made it three wins from as many games in the regional Super50 competition following an easy five wicket victory over Trinidad & Tobago at the Conaree Sports Club in St Kitts on Friday.
Electing to bat, Trinidad & Tobago were dismissed for 168 inside 44 overs. Pacer Kate Wilmott claimed 3-33 and Vanessa Watts 2-28 to roll over their opponents.
Along with two run outs, Neisha-Ann Waisome, Celina Whyte and Stafanie Taylor took the other wickets to fall. Leean Kirby topscored with 48, while Samara Ramnath got 29.
The Jamaicans in pursuit of 169, cruised to 172-5 with 110 balls to spare. Chedean Nation led the way with consecutive half centuries, stroking 70 from 78 balls.
Nation hit 9 fours during her onslaught on the T&T attack. Captain Stafanie Taylor made 38, while Keneisha Fearon weighed in with 18 and Chinelle Henry an unbeaten 17. Ramnath returned to take 3-24.
The Jamaicans will take on Windward Islands Women at St Paul’s in their next encounter on Monday.
