The Mitchells have been hit with a number of shocks in EastEnders in recent weeks, namely the sudden arrest and imprisonment of Ben Mitchell – but there is more still to come.
In upcoming scenes, Jay Brown and Honey Mitchell (Jamie Borthwick and Emma Barton) are struck with a wave of nervous excitement when they receive their numbers for the London Marathon, but the mood soon changes when Jay gets quite the shock.
He checks his phone to see that he has received a voice note from Nadine (Jazzy Phoenix), insisting that she must see him urgently.
Viewers will remember that Jay met Nadine, a sex worker who bore a striking resemblance to the late Lola Pearce, last year, and she ended up providing him with ketamine.
Their relationship dissolved after they slept together, and Jay got in an accident after driving under the influence.
Jay doesn’t know what to say, and puts off replying to Nadine until he confides in friend Gina Knight (Francesca Henry).
Gina advises him to find out exactly what Nadine wants, and he soon arranges to meet her.
During their conversation, Nadine drops the huge bombshell that she is pregnant – and Jay is the dad.
Jay is understandably overwhelmed, and rushes off to process what he has been told.
As he struggles to come to terms with it, Nadine expresses her frustration that he is burying his head in the sand, and soon reveals why she didn’t tell him sooner.

Once again, Jay seeks out Gina for advice, and she encourages him to inform his family as soon as possible, so that he isn’t burdened by keeping it a secret.
As Jay gathers Callum Highway (Tony Clay), Honey and Billy Mitchell (Perry Fenwick), will he be able to tell them, and, if so, how will they react to this shocking news?
