Jukebox once given by Elton John to John Lennon as Christmas gift now up at auction

A jukebox that once changed hands from Elton John to fellow music legend John Lennon as a Christmas gift is going to be sold at Julien’s Auctions on Nov. 16.

The Wurlitzer 1015 jukebox dates to around 1947, according to its lot on the auction website, and will come with 18 original 78 rpm records.

Lennon displayed the machine in his New York apartment, which he shared with Yoko Ono, according to the auction listing.

Julien’s Auctions did not specify which records will be included.

The jukebox’s starting price was $20,000.

Bidding on the piece was at $25,000 as of Saturday, and the California-based auction house expects a final offer between $80,000 to $100,000.

Other items of note being sold in the same auction include Elvis Presley’s signed high school senior yearbook, a double-decker tour bus used by Paul McCartney and Wings in 1972 and multiple guitars used by rock legends including Eric Clapton and Kurt Cobain.
