Prince Harry has taken off from LAX airport this morning to see King Charles following his cancer diagnosis. His car was seen driving into the airports private terminal just hours after the bombshell news broke.
The monarch was diagnosed 10 days after undergoing a corrective surgery for an enlarged prostate, Buckingham Palace announced on Monday evening. The Palace did not specify which type of cancer Charles has, or which stage, but in a publicly released statement it said the cancer was picked up during his recent stint at The London Clinic.
Prince William is anticipated to take on some of his father’s official duties as he resumes his engagements this week. Harry left his home in Montecito and travelled to the West Coast airport earlier this morning and will arrive in the UK today after Charles called him “personally”. Meghan Markle will stay in California with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
In a statement issued on Monday evening, officials said: “During The King’s recent hospital procedure for benign prostate enlargement, a separate issue of concern was noted. Subsequent diagnostic tests have identified a form of cancer.”
The King will “undertake State business and official paperwork as usual”, it has been confirmed, with Charles giving thanks to medical teams for their “swift intervention”.

Why King Charles might need to limit number of people he sees during cancer treatment
King Charles is understood to be continuing his weekly meetings with Rishi Sunak after confirming his cancer diagnosis.
Buckingham Palace announced on Monday, February 5, that Charles had been diagnosed with cancer and will undergo out-patient treatment for the disease.
It is believed the King plans to continue to have some meetings during his treatment. He is also said to be continuing with Red Box paperwork.
However, it is thought the King could have to find alternative ways of working should doctors tell him to minimize contact.
While it has not been confirmed what kind of treatment the King will undergo, Macmillan says some can increase the risk of infection in patients.
