Knife attack in broad daylight disrupts Regina yard sale: Police

Two adults were taken to hospital with injuries that were described as not life threatening after the alleged late-morning attack.

After two people were reportedly attacked by a knife-wielding assailant in Regina on Thursday, police are looking for the public’s help.

According to a news release from the Regina Police Service (RPS), officers were dispatched around 11:25 a.m. Thursday to a home on the 4100 block of 17th Avenue.

A weapons offence had been reported.

“Police and EMS arrived and attended to the victims who were sent to hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening,” the release states.

It goes on to say police learned the two adults sent to hospital had been preparing for a yard sale “when a male approached and assaulted them with a knife before fleeing.”

Anyone with information is being asked to call the RPS at 306-777-6500 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

No description of the alleged perpetrator was provided by police, who have given no indication as to whether a suspect has been apprehended.

In response to a request for an update on the investigation, the RPS stated no update was available.
