The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) has announced the introduction of a new ‘Ticket Alert’ system, which notifies offending drivers of their unsettled fines which must be paid within 30-days.

LASTMA’s new ‘Ticket Alert’ serves as a reminder for motorists to settle any of their outstanding fines accrued through traffic offences such as driving with expired vehicle license, roadworthiness or insurance, among other offences.

According to a statement by LASTMA, motorists risk vehicle impoundment if they fail to settle any of their outstanding fines after the expiration of the 30 days ultimatum.

“LASTMA is now equipped with modern technology to assist in identifying traffic violators, making it practically impossible to escape when you have pending fines on traffic offences such as driving with expired vehicle license, roadworthiness or insurance, among other offences.”

“Once your vehicle is captured by the app and registers you as an offender with unsettled fines as a result of traffic violation, you simply get a yellow sticker on your vehicle as a reminder to settle any outstanding fines within a 30-day period.”

“Note that failure to do so after the expiration of the 30 days ultimatum will result in your vehicle being impounded.”

While noting that the new Ticket Alert “is your friendly signal to settle up and enjoy a stress-free ride”, LASTMA urged motorists to visit www.paylasg.ng to can check for their outstanding fines using their vehicle plate number and make payment.
