Actress Lee Young-ae donated W50 million to help children in Gaza amid the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas, the Korean Red Cross said Tuesday (US$1=W1,289).
“My heart is broken by the sad news I hear every day. Through this donation, I can provide a little help for children suffering painful tragedies due to the war across borders,” Lee said.
The donation will be used for medical care and other relief activities.
Lee has consistently made donations to help people in need and victims of disasters at home and abroad.
Meanwhile, the actress is set to appear in cable channel tvN’s new series “Maestro,” which is scheduled for airing early next month. It is a Korean remake of the 2019 French TV series, “Philharmonia.”
