MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Friday ordered the Toll Regulatory Board (TRB) to immediately implement a 30-day suspension of the Manila-Cavite Expressway (Cavitex) toll collection.
Marcos issued the order as he graced three major events for Cavitex — the groundbreaking ceremonies of the Cavitex-Calax Link and Cavitex C5 Link Segment 3B, and the inauguration of the Cavitex C5 Link Sucat Interchange (Segment 2).
“The the Philippine Reclamation Authority (PRA), as operator of the Cavitex, proposed to suspend the collection of [tolls] for all types of vehicles passing through the Manila-Cavite expressway in Taguig, Parañaque, Las Piñas, Bacoor and Kawit for 30 days, and this will introduce our new roads and expressways to those who are in need of that transport system,” Marcos said in his speech.

“So, we welcome this call and thank the PRA for its initiative to help mitigate the impact of rising fuel costs to our motorists. I now count on our Toll Regulatory Board to ensure the immediate implementation, for the benefit of the riding and the transport public,” he added.
