Apart from leading his Company, Mr. Betz enriched his experience and expertise through various other positions within the health care sector. From 2021 to 2023, he was a clinical review case management specialist for musculoskeletal medicine at The Ohio State University’s Wexner Medical Center. In this capacity, Mr. Betz played a crucial role in developing and implementing case management strategies that enhanced patient care outcomes. He also served as a project manager for occupational medicine for Holzer Health System between 2017 and 2020. His leadership in this role was instrumental in streamlining operations and improving service delivery within the occupational medicine department. Mr. Betz began his career at Holzer Clinic, Inc. in 1976, functioning as a certified family nurse practitioner in the family practice department. In 1986, he developed and implemented the occupational health, sports medicine, and rehabilitation department, serving as the administrator until 1995. After this role, he served as the founder, president, and chief executive officer of Workers Choice Health Services Inc. Similar to his present business, the company specialized in work injury management and treating injured workers until 2012.
Mr. Betz holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Master of Science in exercise physiology from Ohio University in 1981 and 1986, respectively. He also pursued specialized training through the mini residency in occupational medicine and environmental health at the University of Cincinnati. Furthermore, Mr. Betz garnered several professional credentials, such as certification as a disability management specialist and certified occupational health professional and received credentials as a family nurse practitioner from Ohio State University, where he was recognized as one of the first male students to become a family nurse practitioner in the state.
