Highly educated, Mr. McKie earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in marketing from the University of Mississippi. Subsequently, he garnered two Master of Business Administration degrees, one focusing on marketing and management and the other on commerce, from Delta State University. He has taught at the college level in classrooms and in online courses. The courses included Small Business Management, Marketing, and Ethics. Mr. McKie is also certified as a lay speaker with The Missouri Conference. He earned a Certificate in Ministry from Central Baptist Theological Seminary.
Mr. McKie’s dedication to the field is further evidenced by his active membership in professional organizations, including the Homebuilders Association and NEXUS, an organization seeking to train workers and help them to find jobs. In addition to his professional accomplishments, Mr. McKie has made significant contributions to civic organizations including the Kiwanis Club and the Rotary Club. Through his work in community projects including Habitat for Humanity, helping communities provide affordable housing. Relying on the loss of his wife, he strengthened his resolve to contribute positively to society. He has been the president of Luke 16 Corp since 2009, which helps social entrepreneurial organizations in training and development, and has volunteered with the Saint Patrick Center. Mr. McKie previously served as the board president of the Iron County Economic Partnership in Missouri from 2014 to 2019. He left that organization to found a training and entrepreneurial project known as R.E.A.C.T. (Recruiting Entrepreneurs to Assist Communities to Thrive) which lasted from 2018 to 2021.
Besides his primary career endeavors, Mr. McKie is an accomplished author. He has written several influential works, including “The Dignity of Profit,” “The Dignity of Service,” and “The Dignity of Trust: Building Community Through Reliability and Truth.” These publications reflect his deep understanding of business ethics and community building.
