Mr. McKie is also certified as a lay speaker with The Missouri Conference. He earned a Certificate in Ministry from Central Baptist Theological Seminary.

Mr. McKie previously served as the board president of the Iron County Economic Partnership in Missouri from 2014 to 2019. He left that organization to found a training and entrepreneurial project known as R.E.A.C.T. (Recruiting Entrepreneurs to Assist Communities to Thrive) which lasted from 2018 to 2021.
