Additionally, she led in the development of other novel reports, including the groundbreaking GLAAD’s Advertising Visibility Index and GLAAD’s State of LGBTQ Inclusion in Video Games. Her work also centers on forming and growing new partnership with trusted market research firms for proprietary and syndicated research initiatives, and assessing methodologies and accuracy of third-party news sources releasing reports and research pertinent to the LGBTQ community.
Prior to her current role, Ms. Marra was the Vice President of Ad Sales Research and Insights at ViacomCBS (now Paramount) in New York from 2018 to 2022. Before that appointment, she served as Senior Director of Insights and Measurement for the Lifestyle vertical at NBCUniversal Media, LLC in New York from 2017 to 2018 after being promoted from Director of Insights and Measurement, a position she held from 2014 to 2017. Her career includes roles as a Research Manager at ABC News from 2012 to 2014, a Senior Research Analyst at MSNBC from 2009 to 2012, and a Research Analyst at WBZ-TV and WSBK-TV in Boston from 2007 to 2009. Ms. Marra began her career as a Traffic/Office Manager and Sales Assistant at Metro Networks/Westwood One Inc., where she worked from 2005 to 2007.
Notably, Ms. Marra is an expert in research analysis, a skill she has honed over more than 15 years across various sectors of the media landscape. She is a member of the Cultural Effectiveness Council of the Advertising Research Foundation, where her contributions are highly valued for their insight and impact on industry standards. In 2022, she was recognized as an Insight250 Leader for her longstanding impact on her industry and beyond.
In addition to her professional achievements, Ms. Marra received a Master of Science in Television Management from Boston University in 2010 and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Marketing from Ithaca College in 2003. Her academic background has significantly contributed to her success by providing her a robust foundation in qualitative and quantitative research methodologies, presentation, and communication skills.
Outside her professional life, Ms. Marra is a passionate animal advocate. She is a generous donor to animal shelters and a proud adopter of her beloved cat Lucille from the Humane Society of New York.
Marra enjoys hiking, travel, and music, having grown up playing in a band, being proficient in the oboe, and being classically trained in piano.
