7-Day Weather Forecast: 22nd – 28th July 2024

Met Éireann has issued a Status Yellow thunderstorm warning for four counties this evening.

The alert, covering Dublin, Kildare, Meath and Wicklow, is valid until 11pm.

The national forecaster said possible impacts include surface flooding, poor visibility and difficult travelling conditions.

There were some sunny spells today ahead of the arrival of rain spreading from the west, turning heavy at times this evening.

Met Éireann said highest temperatures of 17 to 22 degrees are expected before dropping between 9 to 13 degrees overnight, when rain will clear to leave dry conditions and clear skies with some cloud in the south.

It was mainly dry with some sunshine on Tuesday as highest temperatures reached 18 to 22 degrees during the day and will hit lows of 9 to 14 degrees overnight.

Rain and drizzle in the west will start the day on Wednesday morning and spread eastwards later as highest temperatures are forecast to reach 19 to 21 degrees.

It will be mainly dry with just isolated showers on Wednesday night and lowest temperatures of 13 or 14 degrees.

Met Éireann forecasts further rain and drizzle on Thursday, which will give way in the evening to clearer conditions as temperatures remain warm at 18 to 22 degrees.

Sunshine and showers on Friday are likely on Friday, when temperatures will reach between 17 and 19 degrees.

Current indications from Met Éireann suggest that there will be just isolated showers on Saturday with longer sunny spells in between and the potential for a drier day overall on Sunday and becoming warmer by Monday.
