More than 250 mm of downpours are expected until Tuesday in Chungcheong, North Jeolla and North Gyeongsang regions, which are already suffering heavy damage from floods and landslides, the Korea Meteorological Administration said Sunday.
Over 400 mm of rain fell across the country in the 20 days since the summer monsoon started, and rain is expected to continue until July 26.
Up to 250 mm of rain is expected for Chungcheong, Jeolla, Gyeongsang regions until Tuesday, up to 80 mm in Gyeonggi and Gangwon provinces, up to 60 mm in Seoul and Incheon, and up to 80 mm for Jeju Island.

From July 13 to 15, up to 570 mm of rain had fallen in Chungcheong, North Jeolla, North Gyeongsang regions, and up to 300 mm in the capital region, Gangwon, South Jeolla and South Gyeongsang regions.
The rain will require more preparation for flooding and landslides. Flood advisories were issued on Sunday for 18 regions including Seoul’s Han River and landslide warnings across the country except Jeju.
