Former North Carolina safety Myles Dorn will have to find a new home in the NFL for the upcoming 2023 season.
Just a few weeks before training camp is set to start for the Carolina Panthers, Dorn was waived by the team to make room for the addition of defensive tackle Taylor Stallworth. Dorn joined the Panthers back in January on a futures contract.
He’s spent a few years in the NFL after going undrafted in 2020 and then joining the Minnesota Vikings as a free agent. Over the past three seasons, Dorn bounced back and forth from the Vikings practice squad. But he did earn some playing time, appearing in 14 games in the past two years and playing on 208 snaps.

Dorn’s experience in those 14 games have all come on special teams, a good way to find a role on an NFL roster.
The safety will now await another chance to make an NFL roster ahead of training camp.
