Madam Joyce Sempela Narok, the incredible Narok county teacher who captured the hearts of many across the country for her selfless act of sewing a student’s uniform is back.
The Siyiapei Primary School teacher came forth to express her gratitude to the public for coming through in a big way after a photo of her and the Grade 3 pupil went viral last month.
Madam Sempela became a darling of the masses after a photo of her seated with a needle and thread as the young girl stood beside her was shared on social media.
The caring teacher disclosed that she was touched when she saw eight-year-old Shirleen Saiton Saipiri run across the school with a torn uniform.
Being a mother herself, she called her to one of the unoccupied classrooms, covered her with a shawl, then went down to sewing the dress.
She also revealed that the little girl had been struggling a bit because she lives with her grandmother and had to walk a long distance to school every day.
Speaking to TUKO.co.ke, the educator revealed that the young girl is now happily settled in school and thriving in her studies.
Arguably, one of the reasons behind Saipiri’s new way of life is the fact that members of the public overwhelmingly supported by buying her new uniform.
“The girl in school, she is doing well and working hard in school. She is settled, happy, and eager to learn,” said madam Sempela, sharing photos of the youngster going through her classwork.
She reiterated that the collective efforts of the community have made a significant impact on Saipiri’s life.
The inspiring story of madam Sempela and Saipiri serves as a powerful reminder of the incredible impact human can have when they join hands for a common cause.
It also goes a long way in demonstrating that acts of kindness, no matter how small, can create a ripple effect that transforms lives.
The motherly teacher remains committed to helping other children in need as she added that there are other needy students in her school whom she supports.
