The Denver Nuggets’ second-round series with the Minnesota Timberwolves has sparked a lot of discussion about what it means to be a good leader. Three-time MVP Nikola Jokic clearly sets the table well for the other Nuggets, and it looks like Anthony Edwards does the same for the other Timberwolves. Both men are setting a great example for their respective teams.
But TNT color commentator Reggie Miller doesn’t seem to think LeBron James leads well for the Los Angeles Lakers.
During the early stages of Sunday’s Game 4 in Minneapolis, a conversation about Edwards recently taking accountability turned into what sure sounded like Miller taking a shot at James, especially in the wake of ex-Lakers head coach Darvin Ham’s dismissal from Los Angeles.
Who do we think Reggie Miller was referring to here:

Hmm. Who on Earth could this possibly be referring to when Miller says he’s on “a lot of people’s Mount Rushmore”?
Unless Miller is randomly criticizing guys like Michael Jordan or Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, despite no new recent news about both, it seems pretty apparent he put James in the spotlight here. If we’re being candid, and with all due respect to Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant, James would really be the only active player who fits the criteria for the NBA’s Mount Rushmore.
With the Lakers now officially seeking their fourth head coach in just seven seasons of the James era, it wouldn’t be hard to see why. Some might read as the Lakers scapegoating their coaches without thinking twice because they have James. However, it’s worth noting that this doesn’t necessarily mean James is not taking direct accountability for the Lakers’ failures.
It’s just stating a fact about the organization’s recent lack of stability at head coach with James in the fold.
