Exactly four months since she was overpowered and stabbed to death by an intruder in her home, Marolien Schmidt, a well-known Gqeberha physiotherapist and athlete, was honoured by a local coffee shop with Angel Marolien, a Christmas biscuit in the form of an angel representing her.
Schmidt, 40, was Brioche Food and Coffee’s first customer when it opened its doors in 2012.
The owner, Ilse Cole, felt the best way to honour Schmidt, who was a regular customer and later became like family, was to do this in her memory.
