David Forbes (Jaco Marais/Netwerk24)
It is almost 10 years since music festival organiser David Forbes shot Taufiq Joseph dead in a dispute over tickets being sold for an H2O event, yet he still has not been sentenced by the Cape Town Regional Court.
On Tuesday, probation officer Melany Vries testified in court his most suitable punishment would be correctional supervision.
However, when she was finished, instead of Joseph’s father, Ebrahiem, taking the stand to testify about the impact on the family, the magistrate postponed the case to 24 May for further sentencing proceedings and extended Forbes’ bail.
