Police in Despatch are investigating after an infant died in a vehicle.

Police in the Eastern Cape have opened a culpable homicide case against a woman who left her 6-month-old child in a car for two hours, leading to the child’s death.
Police spokesperson Colonel Priscilla Naidu said the incident happened in Despatch last Thursday.
Naidu said the woman drove with her two children to drop off her 3-year-old son at daycare. Later, at about 13:00, she drove with the infant to a local hairdresser.
