Klerksdorp police have arrested eight suspects believed to be part of a gang which allegedly lured victims to a house through adverts on social media and then robbed them.
According to the police, in February, a victim responded to an advert for the sale of a Toyota Avanza and was taken to a house in Jouberton to complete the transaction.
“It was during the transaction that a group of unidentified people and some pretending to be police officers entered and tried to rob them,” police spokesperson Brigadier Sabata Mokgwabone said.
