A mother and daughter are in critical condition in hospital after unknown assailants opened fire on them in Springfield, Durban, on Friday morning.
KwaZulu-Natal police spokesperson Colonel Robert Netshiunda said the mother, 50, and daughter, 30, who are also business partners, were rushed to hospital.
The assailants are said to have been driving a white Nissan NP200 bakkie in front of the mother and daughter, who were driving to their place of work.
“Anyone with information about the suspects’ whereabouts is urged to contact the nearest police station or call our Crime Stop number [08600 10111]. Information can also be communicated via the MySAPS App,” said Netshiunda.
ALS Paramedics spokesperson Garrith Jamieson said: “Two occupants [of an] SUV sustained multiple gunshot wounds to their body. Advanced Life Support Paramedics [personnel] worked to stabilise both patients and placed them on manual ventilators before rushing them to a nearby Durban hospital for the required urgent care.”
