A convicted sex offender, who is set to go on trial in June for allegedly raping and molesting his nephews, tried to get a court order prohibiting the media from naming him.
The man, who in any event, cannot be named until he has pleaded to the charges, appeared in the Pretoria North Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, where the trial was meant to start.
However, his advocate, Heinrich Sholtz, told the court he had only come on record last week and would have to request a postponement to prepare for trial.
