Severe thunderstorms and strong winds remain forecast for at least three provinces, with the rest of the country experiencing partly cloudy and warm to hot conditions as well as isolated showers and thunderstorms, according to the SA Weather Service.
Impact-based warnings
A Yellow Level 2 warning persists for severe thunderstorms with strong damaging winds and heavy downpours, leading to localised damage and flooding of roads, settlements (formal and informal), low-lying areas and bridges over the northern and eastern parts of the Eastern Cape, western parts of KwaZulu-Natal and the south-eastern parts of Mpumalanga.
Fire danger warning
Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected over Khai-Ma Local Municipality in the Northern Cape and Beaufort West Local Municipality in the Western Cape.

The Western Cape will be cloudy along the coastal areas, with light rain along the south coast at first; otherwise partly cloudy and warm conditions are forecast. It will clear in the west, becoming fine and warm.
The wind along the coast will be a moderate to fresh southerly, becoming a strong south-westerly along the west coast from the afternoon.

Partly cloudy conditions are expected in places along the coast of the western half of the Eastern Cape, with otherwise fine and warm to hot conditions, but very hot temperatures in places in the north. It will become cloudy with isolated showers and thundershowers in the afternoon, but scattered showers in the north. Light rain is also expected along the coast and adjacent interior.
The wind along the coast will be a strong south-westerly in the morning, otherwise a moderate to fresh wind.
The eastern half of the province will be partly cloudy in places along the coast, otherwise fine and warm to hot conditions are expected. It will become cloudy in the afternoon with scattered showers and thundershowers forecast, but widespread in places in the north-east.
The wind along the coast will be a moderate to fresh south-westerly.
KwaZulu-Natal will experience fine and warm conditions, with hot temperatures in places in the east. The province will become cloudy in the afternoon with isolated showers and thundershowers but scattered in the west.
The wind along the coast will be a moderate to fresh north-easterly, becoming a moderate south-westerly in the south in the afternoon.
The expected UVB sunburn index is very high.
