The strong possibility the businessperson
who allegedly ordered the hit on Senzo Meyiwa will probably never spend a night
in jail for his crime, and the NPA and ID’s five-star treatment of Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula should
help dispense with any illusions South Africans may have there is justice in
this country, writes Sipho Masondo.
It is a great travesty of
justice that 10 years after Orlando Pirates and Bafana Bafana captain Senzo
Meyiwa was murdered, South Africans are nowhere close to knowing the identity
of the person who ordered the footballer’s killing and the real reason behind
the hit.
The lead investigator on the
case, Brigadier Bongani Gininda, and his team have executed a first-rate job by
investigating, arresting, and charging five men in connection with Meyiwa’s death.
