MANILA, Philippines —The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) raised the yellow alert for the Luzon electricity grid on Thursday due to forced outages by several power plants.
According to the transmission firm, the Luzon grid will be under yellow alert from 1 p.m.-4 p.m., and 6 p.m.-10 p.m.
Meanwhile, operations in the Visayas and Mindanao grids are normal.
A yellow alert is issued when the operating margin is not enough to meet the transmission grid’s contingency requirement.
