Nigy Boy talks love

‘Continental Boss,’ Nigy Boy, said despite love being a “beautiful thing,” he is yet to find the perfect ‘candidate’ to sweep him off his feet.

In an interview with THE STAR the fast-rising dancehall artiste said his hit single, Continent, is a true reflection of his life as a ‘gyalis’.

“From mi a likkle boy mi a gyalis, enuh, I am a continental gyalis, no lie right there. That’s not to say, though, that I greed within reason, mi nuh jus dweet loose suh, as many may think; I just love the ladies,” the singer shared.

However, the melodious singer who said he is currently enjoying a single life, believes that love is indeed a “beautiful thing” to experience.

“If me fi have somebody inna my life at this time, dem probly wudda waan run weh because is a whole heap a pain and heartache would a come to she right now,” he shared with a laugh. “The ladies endorse this dark chocolate, enuh, so it would be cruel of me to deprive dem; we got to share,” Nigy Boy declared.

“[However] love is a beautiful thing, it’s that magical spark that is created and resonated between significant others. Depending on how long relationships last between people, it’s ever changing, it might feel like it’s fading at times and sometimes it feels like one party a carry 70 per cent a everything, and the spark might flickers down, but it’s up to the parties involved to keep the flame going at all times. It’s a beautiful thing and it takes a lot of work to maintain it,” the You and I singer added.

In the meantime, Nigy Boy told THE STAR that he does not wait for Valentine’s Day to show love to a special woman in his life.

“When I’m dealing with a lady, every day is Valentine’s Day for me. Mi and har a go always go out in fine style to a nice movie or a restaurant and enjoy each other’s company as best as possible. I do the most for her to show her that I love you, and you hold a special place in my heart. Even if she knows, you have to make a woman feel that she’s appreciated, show her in your actions. Take her to a lunch date, buy her gifts and ‘butter her up,’ share a bottle a champagne, mek she put on her nice lingerie fi mi tek off as I create a mental image that my hands will feel from her curves,” he shared while laughing.

On that note, he recalled one of his most memorable Valentine’s Day moment shared with a former lover.

“[My college] girlfriend and I wanted to link up for my birthday but it didn’t work and she surprised me on Valentine’s Day by buying me a cologne that I always wanted, and I had no I idea she was even thinking about that. Later that day, I bought us tickets to attend an indoor adventure park where we went ziplining, [drove] go-carts [among other activities] which brought us back to our childhood memories. It was a fun day which ended with us going to a restaurant, it was cute,” Nigy Boy recalled.

Despite that beautiful experience, the singer said he stood firm in love, he never allows himself to be fully submerged with emotions.

“No sah di continental boss cya do dat, never had I ever fallen in love, but I’ve had a lot of interesting candidates though, but mi stand up firm inna di Gideon. Mi naah mek dem [women] hold on pon mi heart and squeeze it,” he joked.

Nigy boy, whose given name is Nigel Hector, is a musical genius who hails from Montego Bay, St James. He became permanently blind at six-months old, but despite losing his sight, he became a vocal powerhouse who is not only living but making meaningful strides.
