A severe wind watch remains in place for Hawke’s Bay south of Hastings and Tararua District until 8am Thursday.
As the west-to-southwest flow covers New Zealand until Thursday, MetService forecasts a period of severe westerly gales for the region.Thursday
appears to bring dry weather for the rest of the country, especially for Bay of Plenty with a high of 23C, MetService said.
There could be a possibility of isolated odd showers around the parts of Waikato and up toward the Auckland coast, although they are expected to die down heading into the afternoon.
MetService forecasts dry and fine weather for South Island on Thursday, with Christchurch, Wanaka, and Queenstown having a possibility of high temperatures around 19C – 25C.A scorching hot and dry 30C is expected with notable breezes for parts of Canterbury on Friday.
