ABUJA- Over 1,000 athletes will participate in the maiden edition of the national skating championship scheduled for Dec. 1 to 2 package B of the Moshood Abiola national stadium, Abuja.
The president of Skating Federation of Nigeria, Abdullahi Maikano, disclosed this to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday in Abuja.
Maikano said the championship is tagged ‘Abuja 2023.
He said skaters from the 36 states including FCT will participate in the championship.
“We are expecting skaters from all the state in Nigeria; state clubs, individual club and academy will participate in the championship.
“Everything has been put in place to give all participants a befitting environment.
He said that the event will be an annual event to make the shakers prepare for continental championships.
“We will organise more competitions to keep our skaters fit and ready for any international competition to achieve our dream,” he said.
The president said: “There will be a certificate of participation for everything athletes at the end of the championship. (NAN)
