Protesters gather outside the Dáil amid vote on expulsion of Israeli ambassador

Last night’s vote to expel Israel’s Ambassador to Ireland could not have come at a better time for Tánaiste Micheál Martin and his government colleagues.
They had the numbers to defeat the Social Democrats’ Dáil motion, which was seeking to oust Dana Elrich due to the accusations of potential war crimes her country is inflicting on the people of Gaza.
